King Louis XIV of France was a believer of absolutism and religious unification. He was the closest person to use absolute power in France, but said that he was ruling under the law of God and that he was like God. He ruled for a long time: from 1642 to 1715. Cardinal Richelieu wanted to be powerful and he wanted power to be spread. The once wealthy Spanish experienced a tragic decline in the economic life and their healthy. Constitutionalism is something that we should be familiar with today, if you live in the United States of America.
